World Padel Tour arrives in Barcelona and the Real Club de Polo is the perfect host for such an event. The main men’s tournament began on Tuesday, May 3rd, and the main women’s tournament on Wednesday, May 4th.
On Wednesday we were lucky enough to enjoy the best padel in Barcelona, and we had a great time watching matches like Lahoz-Santana vs. Victor Ruiz-David Campos. Victor Ruiz and David Campos, players who coming from the previous round, fought until the last ball, although Lahoz and Santana won as expected and so Santana could celebrate his birthday with a victory. The opening match of the day, Borja Yribarren and Guga Vazquez against Adrian Blanco and Diego Ramos, was one of the longest matches of the day with score of 4/6, 7/5, 7/6.
Godo Diaz and Lucho Capra won 7/6 in the third set against Nicoletti-Tamame and Martín Piñeiro and Jaime Bergareche won against Uri Botello and Javier Concepción with a 6/2, 6/4 result.
Cristian Gutierrez- Juan Martin Diaz won 6/3, 6/4 to Andoni Bardasco-Gerard Company.
The star match of the day from our point of view was the one played by Stupaczuk and Marcello Jardim against Federico Quiles and Seba Nerone, in which Stupaczuk and Marcello came back after losing the first set on a tie break and won 6/2, 6/4 in the next two sets.
The final touch to this day of padel was put by Bela-Lima against Javier Escalante and Andres Britos with a result of 6/1, 6/2.
