Today we will know a little more about one of the Manzasport team players, Mario Doncel Cabrera, who was born in Zamora on a hot August 10, soon will be his birthday and we hope we can celebrate it for many more years.

He is currently working as a HEAD Representative for the racquet section in the North of Spain. Without ceasing to practice padel, whenever the work allows it.

  • Tell us briefly about your professional career. I occasionally compete at the regional level in Castile and León, when work allows.
  • What is Padel for you? It’s a way of life.
  • How did you start in this sport? After I became a professional player, in 2000 I was working in Marbella giving tennis lessons, and then I got a call from the Puente Romano Club and offered me to give padel lessons, and I said yes.
  • What was your first match? Year 2000 in a tournament in Marbella.
  • What position do you feel most comfortable in? Backhand.
  • Who is your partner? Pablo Segurado.
  • And how did you decide to play together? Because of the friendship that unites us since we were kids.
  • Tell us who is your reference player in the world of padel. Sanyo Gutierrez.
  • What match would you like to play? Where and against which players? To repeat the final of the Rome Internationals in 2012 to win.
  • Do you have any curious stories since you started playing padel? Well, on a trip to Miami, I had the honor to play against with Jelena Jancovich.
  • What do you consider your best shot? Backhand volley.
  • Are you superstitious on the court? Yes, I am. Starting the match with the serve gives me confidence.
