We love the World Padel Tour La Nucía Open 2016 because it is played in our land, because the atmosphere is always unbeatable, given the dates. But this tournament was special for us because our player Alvaro Cepero, along with his partner Fernando Poggi, were about to reach the semifinals. It’s a pity that they didn’t manage it in a match with a lot of tension, to the point where they managed to force Mieres and Lamberti, reaching the third set, which Cepero-Poggi couldn’t win.
At this tournament it is worth mentioning that Pitu Losada, three times world champion and number 1 in the International Padel Federation Ranking in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, participated as a commentator in the live broadcast of the matches at La Nucia Open.
In addition, Bela suffered an injury that prevented him from playing in the final, so Paquito Navarro and Sanyo Gutierrez were named champions of the World Padel Tour La Nucia Open 2016. As for the girls, the twins Mapi and Maggio Alayeto, always undefeated, scored another victory in a very exciting match against Alejanda Salazar and Marta Marrero.
