The female calendar of the World Padel Tour 2016 kicks off in our city, Valencia with the Estrella Damm Valencia Master, and there’s a lot to see. After the previous season of the professional padel circuit, with the unbeatable Mapi and Mayo Sanchez Alayeto who had the best season of their career with 7 wins out of 10 tournaments played, they are presented as clear favorites, although the Valencia hasn’t been their best stage in recent years, and in 2014 they just missed the final.
On the other hand, Alejandra Salazar and Marta Marrero, an explosive couple, are presented as their main rivals whose main goal this year is to climb to the top of the rankings.
With a stage full of favorites like Patty Llaguno and Eli Amatriain as couple number 3 with a very effective game, Carolina Navarro and Cecilia Reiter as fourth couple who were number 1 in the world for 3 consecutive years, this Estrella Damm Valencia Master promises to be a spectacle in women’s padel.
Of course we cannot forget the other players such as Cata Tenorio and Victoria Iglesias, Lucia Sainz and Gemma Triay, who will be making their debut as a couple and we’re sure they will give their best on the padel courts to get the victory.
We wish them all the best in this first female professional padel tournament, but we’re sure we’ll all look forward to the debut of Marta Ortega and Alba Galan, a young couple who promise to make a sensation in 2016.
