Whether you are an experienced player or an amateur, you must clearly differentiate the main playing zones. Today we tell you what are the 3 playing zones so that you can locate yourself correctly on the padel court.
First, we talk about the back side of the padel court. At the back side of the paddle court you will find the serving line and two squares, so the correct position at the back of the court is in the central area of each square and always one step behind the serving line. This position is very comfortable because it gives you an overall view of the game and also makes it easy to get balls that fly into the middle of the court as well as those that are directed toward the side wall on your side. There is one trick to this position that can be very useful, if you position yourself just behind the serving line, you can see that balls that bounce in front of the line should be hit without the wall, just as if the ball bounces behind the line, it is better to let it bounce to the wall. This is not a reliable guarantee, but it helps.
We clearly differentiate 3 zones of play: the back court, the transition zone, and the net. Now we will explain the second zone of play that you should know and that is the transition zone. As its name indicates, the transition zone is the intermediate position between the service line and the net. There are few players who feel comfortable in this zone because this playing position does not favor any stroke. Therefore, we advise you to know this position, but not to spend too much time in it. Take a position near the net or look for a comfortable spot in the back of the court to play the padel.
You’ve probably heard phrases like “go up to the net” if you’ve seen a certain level of padel match. Well, this is the third position, the net, that you must know and clearly identify its location on the court. Being at the net means that you are more or less two meters away from the net. In this position you will be comfortable to volley without being over the net, and it is also a position where mobility with your partner must be very synchronized, the purists will tell you that you must move at the same time and that the distance between you should be 3 or 4 meters.
