The Estrella Damm Master Final starts today, Wednesday, December 14th, in Madrid. The six best female padel couples and the eight best male padel couples will meet this week for the last official competition World Padel Tour of 2016. We’re sure that we are going to enjoy great padel as a finishing touch to the year 2016 that we have lived.
As for the women’s padel, here are the 6 couples that will compete in the Estrella Damm Master Final, the Masters:
1. Marta Marrero and Alejandra Salazar: the current number 1 of the ranking, they are in their best moment as a couple. We’ll see them on the padel court giving their all and proving that they are this season’s undefeated couple.
2. Majo and Mapi Sanchez Alayeto: the twins finish the year as number two, but they are very strong players, so they are clear favorites to win the Masters this year.
3. Patricia Llaguno and Eli Amatriaín: the number 3 of the 2016 World Padel Tour ranking, coached by Niki Berwig, arrive full of illusion to the Master Final.
4. Carolina Navarro and Cecilia Reiter: this couple knows what it is to be number one in this Masters as well, and they are contenders to be reckoned with in this final.
5. Gema Triay and Lucia Sainz: this couple has solidified their position as the sporting couple this season on the World Padel Tour, and we’re sure they’ll have plenty to talk about.
6. Alba Galan and Marta Ortega: after breaking up mid-season at the Masters Finals, they’re back together.
As for the men’s couples, we have the following players who are competing for the Masters title:
1. Bela and Lima, the current number 1 of the World Padel Tour ranking.
2. Sanyo Gutierrez and Paquito Navarro, the number 2 couple, regulars in the finals, who are ready for anything in this Master Finals.
3. Maxi Sanchez and Matias Diaz, a tough couple who won in Mendoza this year. Maxi Sanchez has won this tournament 3 times, will it be a fourth?
4. Juani Mieres and Miguel Lamberti, regulars this season at all tournaments as couple 4, will the altitude be a conditioning factor in favor of this couple?
5. Guillermo Lahoz and Aday Santana, their last tournament as a couple since Aday will form a duo next season with our Manzasport player Álvaro Cepero. Guillermo Lahoz, nicknamed “the magician” one of the best players of the Spanish padel fights for the master with Aday, a couple “made in Spain” with a lot of strength and solidity in their game.
6. Adrian Allemandi and Alex Ruiz. As Silingo recovers from surgery, Allemandy will have to fight on the backhand with his partner Alex Ruiz, who will enjoy his first master with the Argentine.
7. Maxi Grabiel and Cristian Gutierrez. Two talented players who join forces because of injuries to their partners.
8. Marcello Jardim and Luciano Capra. Their first tournament together and it will be at the Estrella Damm Master Final.
Masters, let the show begin!
